LUSAS e-News : 1
October 2007
It's
our 25th anniversary...
On 1st October 1982, Finite
Element Analysis Ltd., more commonly known to users of our
software as LUSAS, started trading. Today, twenty-five years later, with
offices and a network of
software distributors around the world, thousands of engineers use
LUSAS to analyse and assist with their designs.
During this time many
record-breaking,
prestigious and iconic projects have been designed with the assistance of
LUSAS software. LUSAS involvement on these projects often, unfortunately,
goes un-reported
owing to contractual restraints or at our clients' requests. But,
of those in the record-breaking category that we have been able to publicise, we can look back on
the analysis of the world's largest above-ground full containment LNG
tank in South Korea and the world's first rotating boat lift, the
Falkirk Wheel, in Scotland. The Spinnaker
Tower and Gateshead Millennium Bridge come to mind as examples of prestigious projects in the United Kingdom that continue to
attract public and media interest even today. And in the United States,
Michigan's Gateway Arch Bridges and Wichita's Footbridges are just
two of many recent examples of where LUSAS software has helped
with the design of modern, iconic bridges.
In fact, 2007 currently sees LUSAS making
big in-roads into the US bridge, civil and structural engineering
analysis markets with many high-profile consultants and much valued
Departments of Transportation taking on our software for both
its general and advanced analysis capabilities. We are also
responding to an emerging engineering analysis market in China and
to meet this demand a Chinese language version
of LUSAS is being developed.
We look forward to continuing
to support you in the years ahead and to developing our software to always meet
your requirements. And then, in another 25 years time, to
celebrating a half centenary of providing leading engineering
analysis software.
We thank you for choosing to use
LUSAS software and we wish you all the best in your work.
