We specialise in the development, marketing and support of LUSAS finite element analysis software which is distributed through a network of LUSAS sales offices and distributors. Due to increasing sales worldwide and an ongoing commitment to continually develop the software to meet our clients' needs we require additional staff to help keep LUSAS at the forefront of technology.

Engineering Consultancy

We seek a Manager to head-up our specialist Engineering Consultancy team providing advanced nonlinear, dynamics and thermal engineering analysis services to a wide range of clients in the UK and Overseas. We require a Support Engineer based in the UK to join our team supporting LUSAS customers worldwide.

We need a Support Engineer based in North America to support and service our expanding US client base.

We are looking for Software Engineers to join our LUSAS user interface and LUSAS solver development team based in Kingston upon Thames. 

These are excellent opportunities for bright engineers wishing to combine interests in both engineering and computing.

We are looking for graduate engineers to train in the use of the LUSAS and work alongside our experienced engineers on some of the world's most exciting engineering analysis projects.

Job Details

Head of Engineering Consultancy (Ref HEC-W)

You should be a Chartered Engineer with 10 or more years of relevant experience and a first or second class degree in Civil or Mechanical engineering or similar discipline.  A further qualification in FEA or numerical methods in engineering would be an advantage.  Applicants with experience in using LUSAS would be particularly welcome.

  • You should be able to demonstrate a fundamental understanding of computational and engineering mechanics and have a proven track record of managing technical staff.  

  • Among your personal qualities will be good client communication skills, both written and verbal and a dedication to quality.

  • You will be based at our riverside head office in Kingston upon Thames but due to the international nature of the business a willingness to travel overseas is essential.

Support Engineer (Ref SE-W)

We seek a Support Engineer, based at our riverside head office in Kingston upon Thames, to join our team of engineers supporting our worldwide client base.

You should have a good degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and a minimum of two years design experience in structural engineering, including bridge design using stress analysis software. Experience of using LUSAS would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given. The position will involve:

  • Providing technical support to LUSAS users worldwide
  • Presenting LUSAS training courses
  • Providing pre-sales support to the UK sales team, LUSAS offices and Distributors worldwide

Among your personal qualities will be good communications skills, an imaginative problem solving ability, a highly proactive attitude, strong customer focus and the ability to be a good team player.

The job will provide exposure to a wide range of interesting engineering problems and an opportunity for you to further develop your analysis skills.

As we market and sell LUSAS worldwide, opportunities are available to those wishing to travel to visit many overseas locations particularly Europe and the USA.

An excellent remuneration package is available dependent on experience.

North America Support Engineer (Ref NASE-W)

We seek a Support Engineer based in North America, to service our rapidly expanding North American client base.

You should have a good degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and a minimum of two years design experience in structural engineering, including bridge design using stress analysis software. Experience of using LUSAS or other Finite Element Analysis software would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given. The position will involve:

  • Providing technical support for LUSAS
  • Presenting LUSAS training courses
  • Providing pre-sales support to the sales team

Among your personal qualities will be good communications skills, an imaginative problem solving ability, a highly proactive attitude, strong customer focus and the ability to be a good team player.

In addition to providing support services there could also be the opportunity to carry out analysis consultancy for clients in North America, depending on your experience.

Although we have an office in New York it will not be necessary for you to be based there and any suitable location in North America would be acceptable.

LUSAS Senior Software Engineer (Ref SSE-W)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our LUSAS Solver Development Team based in Kingston upon Thames to work on our implicit analysis technology. The position has the benefit of working closely with highly experienced finite element development engineers and is an excellent opportunity for a rewarding career in a technically challenging environment.

You should have a good first degree and an MSc or PhD in Engineering, Mechanics or Mathematics.

Experience in the formulation and development of one or more of the following is required:

  • System architecture

  • Parallel computing

  • Parallel equation solvers

  • New elements

  • Nonlinear materials

  • Nonlinear large rotations and large strains

  • Contact

  • Thermal and coupled problems

We also require you to have:

  • An in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art algorithms to be implemented for advanced nonlinear applications

  • A sound knowledge of numerical methods, mathematics and implementation on high-performance computers

  • A high level of personal motivation and ability to work well with a dedicated team of software engineers developing the LUSAS system

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and a dedication to quality

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience

C++ Software Engineers (Ref CSE-W)

We are looking for C++ Software Engineers to join our LUSAS user interface development team based in Kingston upon Thames. These are excellent opportunities for bright engineers wishing to combine interests in both engineering and computing.

  • You should have a first or second class degree in Engineering, a minimum of 3 years' C++ programming experience and be familiar with a range of engineering analysis techniques.  Applications from Civil/Structural engineers with Bridge Engineering experience would be particularly welcome.

or... 

  • You should have a first or second class degree in Computer Science, and a minimum of 3 years' C++ programming experience. Applicants with an interest in engineering would be particularly welcome.

Among your personal qualities will be the ability to work in a team, good communication skills both written and verbal, and a dedication to quality.

Trainee Graduate Engineers (Ref TGE-W)

As a market leader in the development and supply of engineering analysis software to the Construction Industry worldwide, we are able to provide an excellent opportunity for graduate engineers to train in the use of the LUSAS finite element software. 

These full time positions will provide you with an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers in the use and support of LUSAS on some of the world's most exciting engineering analysis projects.
