Viewing Results
A whole host of facilities and
wizards are available to help you evaluate your results.
- Results can be viewed using separate layers for diagram, contour,
vector and discrete value data.
- Plot bending moments, shear forces, and deflections.
- Contour ranges and vector/diagram scales can be controlled locally in
each window or set globally to apply to all windows.
- Loadcases are selected on a window basis allowing multiple views of
the model with each window displaying results for different loadcases.
- Results can be displayed in global or local directions, in element
directions, or at any specified orientation.
- Results can be plotted on deformed or
undefromed fleshed or unfleshed beam sections.
- Multiple slices may be cut through the model on arbitrary planes and
made visible or invisible in any window.
Animations
Animations of results - particularly useful for animating mode
shapes and investigating the spread of yielded material - can be saved as AVI files for
display in other Windows applications.
Graphing
The graphing wizard provides a step by step means of selecting which
results are to be plotted. Numerical data used to create the graph is displayed in a grid
style alongside the graph.
Reinforced
Concrete Slab/Wall Design
An RC Slab/Wall design wizard enables reinforcement
requirements to be calculated for slabs and walls. Using design bending moments (Wood
Armer) the area of steel required is calculated and contours of steel area, or bar
diameter and spacing plotted out to aid the RC detailing process. Crack width contours can
also be plotted to specified design codes.

Printed Results
Views of your LUSAS model may be
printed directly to your default printer from page layout or working
mode and a printing scale and origin can
be defined. Model views can also be saved as high
resolution BMP, JPG, or WMF files.
A report wizard allows model and results data
to be selected on an
element, feature type, group, and loadcase basis for output into an easy- to- read
Word report
for model checking purposes, quality assurance and for listing of results.
Output to 3rd Party Software
The contents of a model window can be saved or copied for use in
creating reports in applications such as MS Word. All results can be output for use in
spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel where additional graphing or calculations can be
carried out.
