User Interface
LUSAS Analyst and LUSAS Composite
engineering analysis products bring the power of advanced finite element technology to the desk
of every engineer in an easy to use Windows environment.

The user interface uses standard windows concepts ensuring that new
users find it both familiar and easy to use. An extensive set of tools and wizards
together with the object orientated design of the system all provide for rapid model
building, powerful model editing and comprehensive results processing.
- Model attributes can be named explicitly and as they are
defined they are displayed in a Treeview. They can then be easily assigned to selected
geometry of the model using the "drag and drop" technique.
- Multiple graphical windows allow simultaneous displays of different parts
of the model at different orientations.
- Each window provides a view onto the model so that when modifications are
made in one view, all other windows are updated automatically.
- All windows enable powerful cursor selection, full pan and zoom and
dynamic rotation.
- Models are formed of layers where the visibility and properties of each
layer can be controlled and accessed via the layer name which is held in the Treeview.
- As the model is built up, features of the model may be grouped together
and manipulated to speed up data preparation or to enable parts of the model to be
temporarily hidden.

Model creation, loading, graphing and results manipulation is
further enhanced with the use of wizards.
- Single loadcase and multiple loadcase animations are generated by an
animation wizard.
- The animation window allows interaction with the animation using a set of
play buttons similar to a tape player.
- Animation sequences may be saved for future use.
- Multiple animations may be displayed simultaneously.

- Results are viewed using separate layers for diagram, contour, vector and
discrete value data.
- Contouring uses either shaded or hidden line contours to display nodal or
element based results.
- Contour ranges and vector/diagram scales can be controlled locally in
each window or set globally to apply to all windows.
- Loadcases are selected on a window basis so it is possible to have
multiple views, each of which are displaying results for different loadcases.
- Multiple slices may be cut through the model on arbitrary planes and made
visible or invisible in any particular view.

- A graphing wizard provides a step by step means of selecting which
results are to be plotted.
- The results data used to create the graph is displayed in a grid style
alongside the graph
- Graph data may be cut and pasted into a spreadsheet for more extensive
graphing presentation capabilities.
