Typical warning message found in the LUSAS Solver text output (*.OUT) file:

***WARNING*** CONTACT NODE P ON SURFACE Q OF SLIDELINE R HAS PENETRATED
IN THE INITIAL CONFIGURATION. THE NODE COORDINATES HAVE BEEN CHANGED
FROM: 15.07249 0.0000000E+00 2.199791
TO: 15.07249 -0.2691181E-15 2.199791 (SLCUPD PROCESSOR)

Most common causes & links to solutions

This warning from LUSAS Solver is not normally a cause for concern. It indicates that during an initial check LUSAS recognised that one slideline (or slide-surface) was being forced through the other. The warning describes that the elements are being adjusted so that they are in contact. In general the adjustments to node coordinates are very small.

The error syntax reads that: Contact node (a) on surface (b) of slideline (c) has penetrated in the initial configuration. The node coordinates have been changed: from: (x1, y1, z1) to: (x2, y2, z2)
