Licence key-related error message: "Key Error"

Typical error message occurring on an attempt to run LUSAS Modeller:

Key error - see LusasM.err for details

What to do when you see this message

When there is a problem with your license keys, as this message suggests, LUSAS Modeller should always create an error file, usually called LUSASM_0.err, LUSASM_1.err, LUSASM_2.err and so on. This is placed in your current working directory, which is set by the shortcut which you use to open LUSAS Modeller or the location of a model opened from Windows Explorer.

The default working directory is C:\Lusas134\Projects, and you should be able to find your *.err file there or your can search further afield (e.g. whole of C:\ drive) using "Windows Explorer".  You may use the menu item:

Tools > Find > Files or folders... > (text box) Named=*.err

You should examine the most recent  LUSASM_*.err file, which will be an ASCII text file (open using a text editor such as Windows "Notepad" or "Wordpad").  When you open the  LUSASM_*.err file, you should find it contains text similar to the following, indicating the cause of the key error.:

***ERROR*** All Keys Are Invalid For The Following Reasons:-
Key 5OPCGHJ34TDS7117PIFOS9NFB - Incorrect Product Number
