Licence key-related error message: "Machine Date Precedes Dongle Date "

Typical error message found in the LUSASM_*.err file:

***ERROR*** All Keys Are Invalid For The Following Reasons:- 
Key XXXXXYXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - Machine Date Precedes Dongle Date 
Check Machine Date Is Correct

Causes & links to solutions 

Every time that LUSAS is run, the current PC date/ time is checked against the a date/ time stored in the dongle. If the PC settings are earlier than the dongle settings in the dongle then the error message "machine date precedes dongle date" will appear.  This error typically has one of the following causes:

  1. Dongle has attracted a "time stamp" in the future

  2. Sentinel drivers corrupt

  3. Parallel port problems

  4. Dongle is broken
