Dongle not inserted correctly in a parallel port

If there is no dongle in the parallel port, LUSAS will check the 25-digit licence key and, if current, will load a "limited" or "evaluation" version of the software.  Limits are 500 nodes, 250 elements, 1500 variables, 10 loadcases and 100 points.

  1. Check the parallel port of your PC - if no dongle is present, this is causing the "limited version" to be used. You should locate the dongle and fix it firmly into the port.

  2. Ensure that the dongle is placed in a parallel port and not in a serial port. Note that serial ports can have the same 25 pin connector as a parallel port.  If you are unsure, speak to a member of your IT department.

  3. There may be other dongles attached to the PC that are causing a conflict. Try reversing the order of the dongles – particularly placing them such that the LUSAS dongle is plugged directly into the parallel port. If this does not work try using only the dongle supplied by LUSAS

Any modelling and analysis capabilities described on this page are dependent upon the LUSAS software product and version in use.
