Carrying out a key test
A key test can be carried out by following the procedure below:
- Create an ASCII text file called LUSASM.STR and type in the following
lines
system
keytst=1
end
- Save it to your current working directory. The current working directory is set by the shortcut which you use to open LUSAS Modeller or the location of a model opened from Windows Explorer.
[Alternatively, you can add keytst=1 to any existing LUSASM.STR in the directory
C:\lusas13\programs\config]
- Run LUSAS Modeller. By invoking Modeller a new LUSASM_*.ERR file will be created.
- Find the most recent LUSASM_*.ERR file on your hard drive. Try using "Windows Explorer" to search all of your C:\ drive --
Tools > Find > Files or folders... > (text box) Named *.err
- Check this has a time/date that corresponds to the time/date that Modeller was invoked and contains some text.
- Send it to the appropriate
technical support contact
You should include the following information with the
LUSASM_*.ERR file
-
Which operating system and patch level is being used on
the machine
-
Which precise version of LUSAS you are using:
You can check this by going to the LUSAS Modeller menu bar, and picking:
Help > About LUSAS Modeller ...
The box which appears should state the version on the top line
(e.g. 13.3-6).
[Alternatively you can give the kit number, which can be found on the installation
CD (e.g. kit 118)]
