Licence server switched off or logged out
Naturally, the licence server must be running for licences to be obtained. Where the licence server has a Windows NT operating system, there does not need to be a user logged in at the terminal. However, where the licence server has a Windows 98 operating system, a user must be logged in for the licence server to be operational.
