LUSAS for Structural and
Bridge Applications Training Course
Held on 13-15th July 2009,
Johannesburg, South Africa
An
informative and well received event |
|
In response to demand and as a follow-up to the
recent release of LUSAS 14.3 with its increased range of modelling,
analysis and results processing facilities, we ran our popular
training course "LUSAS for Structural and Bridge
Applications" at the offices of Goba (Pty) Limited in
Johannesburg, South Africa in July 2009.
Topics covered included:
- Simple bridge/frame analysis models.
- Basic model building skills and results processing.
- More advanced bridge/structural analysis including composite bridges using beam and slab models.
- Details on more advanced system tools to allow quicker and more efficient model building and post processing.
- Introduction to 3D modeling using complex analysis models including box & plate girders.
- Natural frequency analysis and modal superposition.
- How to find the dynamic behaviour of a structure and progress to simple response due to vibrations, shocks and seismic events.
- Full step-by-step' analysis of structures.
- Understanding why traditional analytical or interactive modal dynamics will not work for some structures and how to perform a full 'step-by-step' analysis.
- Understanding non-linear analysis
- Bridge modelling using Advanced Analysis Control
- Understanding the different techniques available for the analysis of bridge/civil structures and how they are used.
- Creep and stage construction analysis
- Introduction to post-tensioning analysis
