Setting Modeller and Solver options

Various Modeller options can be set for Modeller for a particular model or all new models via the Modeller user interface:

File > Model Properties > Defaults > (click) Advanced . . .

The "Options and settings" dialog that appears is for advanced users only and should generally only be used with the assistance of LUSAS support. It enables special Modeller options to be set to override defaults or to provide access to new options.

  • Press the New option... button to allow a new option or setting to be defined
  • With an option selected, press the Reset button to reset an option or setting to its default value
  • With an option selected press the Delete button to remove an option or setting from the list. This will result in a default value being used if appropriate.

Commonly required options are set in the user interface via the other tabs of the Model Properties dialog.  For example the solver option "Option 18" for fine integration can be set via the "Solution" tab and the "Element options. . ." button.

Other numbered Solver options can also be set via the "Options and settings" dialog in Modeller:

  1. Add a "New Option…"

  2. select Boolean and enter a name of "Option #". Substituting the hash for the actual option number. This option is then turned on by ticking the Value box.

  3. Click OK, OK and Close

For the Solver Option to take effect you will need to save the model, and then solve.
