LUSAS User Area

Typical message from LUSAS Modeller text output pane:

Mesh currently locked by user

LUSAS automatically "locks the mesh" when a results file is loaded onto a model file. (Menu item: Utilities > Mesh > Mesh Lock). If the model file is edited subsequently the mesh lock needs to be removed to obtain any changes in mesh.

LUSAS automatically locks the mesh on a model when a results file is loaded because mesh changes may lead to the assembly of results in a misleading fashion. Results are associated with node and element numbers. They are retrieved from a database and displayed graphically by LUSAS Modeller. Mesh changes involve renumbering or reorientation of elements. Therefore results requested by the user after a remesh may appear in the wrong location and in the wrong order in the structure.

You can unlock the mesh using the menu items:

Utilities > Mesh > (uncheck) Mesh Lock

Utilities > Mesh > Mesh reset
