LUSAS Version 21.0 Worked Examples

Worked examples covering a wide range of applications are available as individual PDF files. As noted in some examples, associated files are also required. These are provided in a single downloadable zip file. See below for more details.

  • After download it is recommended to create a folder C:\Users\<your_name>\Documents\LUSAS_associated_example_files and unzip the files into this location. Note that some scripts reference others and therefore should not be copied independently into other locations.
  • Note that worked examples for use with PontiEC4 are provided as part of its installation.

3. Download a chosen worked example

Browse the list of worked examples below to download a PDF file for use with the appropriate associated files. 

The keywords in the examples lists below provide a summary of the modelling and results features carried out in each example.


Software requirements

The LUSAS software version, software product (and version of that product) and any product options that are required in order to run an example will be stated in a usage box at the beginning of each example, along with any relevant notes, like this::

For software product(s): All / LUSAS Bridge /LUSAS Civil & Structural etc
With product option(s): Nonlinear, Dynamics, Thermal, Geotechnical etc.

Notes

  • Any new examples, or examples updated for this software release are marked accordingly.
  • Examples that cannot be run using the LUSAS Evaluation / Teaching and Training version (which has restrictions on problem size) are noted in those examples.
  • LUSAS Academic will run any example, provided the correct software product option is selected during start-up.
  • LUSAS Composite examples can be run in any software product if a Composite product option has also been purchased.
