LUSAS is a software company which develops and promotes an analysis and design product leased by engineering consultancy firms, primarily in the bridge and civil engineering sectors. We also provide consultancy services to clients on request.

Based at our riverside head office in Kingston upon Thames, you will work under our System Administrator and the role will provide exposure to a wide range of interesting IT problems and opportunities for you to develop your skills, including:

• Providing IT support to the 30 or so staff
• Installing and configuring hardware and software
• Managing software licensing
• Managing servers and applications, including web servers and backups
• Configuring and maintaining firewalls and network devices
• Developing and maintaining internal technical documentation
• Procurement of hardware, software and services

The role also includes running testing software (Micro Focus Unified Functional Testing - UFT) to help with the quality assurance of our product releases. The proportion of time spent on testing will vary with our product release cycle.

The successful candidate will have:

• A keen interest in computing tech 
• A relevant further education qualifications (A levels, BTech etc.)
• Some office experience
• Some programming experience e.g. database design, Python, VB or other interpretive language development.

• VPN / Remote Desktop
• Networking
• Database (SQL Server / MSAccess)
• Micro Focus UFT
• Security (Anti-Virus, Firewall)

• Veeam
• SQL / PowerShell / VBA / VBS / Bash

Interests in civil engineering or AI would likewise be an advantage.
