Licence key-related error message: "Number of ### exceeds evaluation limit of ###..."

Typical messages appearing in a dialog in Modeller on opening a model:

Number of nodes ### exceeds evaluation limit of 500
Number of elements ### exceeds evaluation limit of 250
Number of loadcases ### exceeds evaluation limit of 10
Number of points ### exceeds evaluation limit of 100

Typical messages appearing in a Solver Output file (.out):

***ERROR*** PROBLEM TOO LARGE FOR EVALUATION VERSION
***ERROR*** UNRECOVERABLE DATA ERROR, SOLUTION ABORTED (OVERL5 PROCESSOR)


Causes & links to solutions 

This error typically has one of the following causes:

  1. The "Teacher and training limits" option is ticked in the LUSAS Configuration Utility

  • If running Windows XP/2000/Vista/7, click Start> All Programs> LUSAS 15.0 for Windows> Tools> Configuration Utility 
  • If running Windows 8, right-click on the main Start screen, choose All Apps and browse for the Configuration Utility 
  • If running Windows 8.1, on the main Start screen, click on the Apps down arrow icon and browse for the Configuration Utility

Un-tick the option "Teacher and training limits" and then click OK and start LUSAS Modeller again.

  1. All license tokens are already in use (network licenses only)
